The combination of two antihypertensive medications, Amlodipine and Norvasc, is not recommended for treating a cardiovascular condition. Amlodipine belongs to a class of drugs called angiotensin II receptor antagonists. Amlodipine is used to treat angina, high blood pressure in the arteries of the neck (hypertension), as well as chest pain (angina pectoris). Norvasc belongs to a group of drugs called calcium channel blockers. It works by blocking the action of an enzyme called beta-adrenergic receptors in the brain, which relaxes the muscles in the walls of the arteries. Amlodipine helps to lower the blood pressure in the arteries and also decreases the rate of peripheral edema which is characterized by high blood pressure. Amlodipine can also be used for the treatment of angina pectoris in patients who have a history of coronary artery bypass graft (CABG).

Interactions

Consult a doctor before taking Amlodipine or Norvasc, especially if you have heart problems, high or low blood pressure, a history of stroke, a serious allergic reaction, an irregular heartbeat, chest pain or angina, a recent history of angina or chest pain, a heart attack or bypass surgery, or any other serious condition, and the drug may not be right for you. It is very important to inform your doctor about any other medications you are taking, as Amlodipine can interact with drugs such as: anticoagulants, blood thinners, certain steroids, blood pressure medications, antibiotics, and heart medications. Amlodipine may also interact with certain medicines for heart rhythm (propranolol, beta-blockers) and certain blood pressure drugs. Amlodipine may also interact with the following drugs: beta blockers, anticholinergics, diuretics, blood pressure drugs, cyclosporine, anti-platelet medications, cholesterol-lowering medications, and some antibiotics, especially if you are taking a long term medication for infection. If you are taking Amlodipine to treat angina, especially if you are already taking a blood thinner or warfarin, Amlodipine can cause serious side effects, including dizziness, nausea, sweating, and blurred vision. Before taking Amlodipine, tell your doctor about all the medications you are taking, especially amlodipine and Norvasc.

A new prescription card is approved to buy Norvasc in India for the treatment of high blood pressure and other symptoms of low blood pressure.

A new prescription card for Norvasc is being introduced, following an FDA advisory committee hearing on the safety and efficacy of the drug.

The new drug card is the first in a new group of drugs called calcium channel blockers (CCBs), which are designed to block calcium from entering your blood.

It is important that your doctor and pharmacist know that Norvasc is not an effective treatment for high blood pressure.

The new CCCB card will not affect patients with heart failure or other conditions, such as hypertension, because Norvasc is not a calcium channel blocker.

This new card will be introduced in the United States this year. It will be available through pharmacies, hospitals, and doctors’ offices.

A new prescription card for Norvasc is also being developed for high blood pressure and heart failure.

The drug is designed to treat high blood pressure that is at least two years after a person first gets to take it. Patients who are not well-controlled on the drug, or have had problems with blood pressure more than two years beyond the first dose of the drug, are at risk.

A new CCCB card is available in the U. S.
